THE THREE C's FOUNDATION FUND
HISTORY
This fund was established through the generosity of the Crawford Family and assists current deckhands in obtaining their United States Coast Guard captain’s license. Mr. Bill Crawford has spent the last 40 years as a successful United States Coast Guard licensed captain. He and his family feel compelled to assist others trying to advance in the field.
ELIGIBILITY
Must be working as a deckhand in South Louisiana
AWARD
The scholarship is a one-time award up to $1,500. The Three C's Foundation Fund accepts and considers application letters from any potential candidate trying to obtain their initial USCG captain's license. The Foundation's committee will grant scholarships twice a year, in June and December. The application deadline for the June scholarship award will be May 15th and the deadline for the December scholarship award will be November 15th. Applications turned in after May 15th will be automatically considered for the following December scholarship award. Applications turned in after November 15th will enrolled and considered for the following year's June scholarship award. The award must be used for tuition and expenses to attend an accredited United States Coast Guard captain’s licensing program. The amount of the award will reflect the cost of the program the applicant attends up to $1,500.

Letter of recommendation from current employer
Proof of enrollment in an accredited United States Coast Guard captain’s licensing program (Please note that most accredited licensing programs require the tuition fee upon registration. If the fee cannot be provided by the applicant up front, an invoice may be submitted with the application. However, the applicant must submit proof of enrollment within 10 days of registering for the course.)
Proof of financial need (i.e. most recent pay stub)
